The Longest Day

This movie was made in black and white in 1962.
It is about "D-Day", the invasion of Normandy during World War II, on June 6, 1944. Actual soldiers who were in Normandy that day helped with the production of this film as advisers and military consultants.

Some of the actors: Richard Burton, John Wayne, Sean Connery, Peter Lawford, Robert Wagner, Henry Fonda and Red Buttons.

This movie is different than most because all the characters speak in their own language. Whenever French or German was spoken there are English subtitles.

For me, this movie was educational. It made me realize how awful war is. When the Americans landed in the wrong place after jumping from their plane, the Germans shot them. As they were falling from the sky or hanging from a building.

This is a really good movie.
